Usually I don't give my opinion on the internet...
But recently this has changed.
And don't blame yourself for the reactions of others. If you want to talk about something that is taboo or not, you can. Everyone has the right to explain their point of view. If they react badly... it's because they don't understand, and may never understand.
It's up to them to ask the question "is he right?" Etc
