#38 - Those Moments When You Could Die of Joy
Find all the other episodes and ask me a question here.
I recorded this episode literally right after a personal experience like that – and it wasn't my first – so I could document it while it was fresh and try to understand it better.
I encourage you to react to this episode and share any questions, answers, or experiences you might have had in the comments below :)
Enjoy your listening! 😃
The two songs I talk about in the episode:
Scylla, Sofiane Pamart - Solitude

Hey Eric, I just listened to your podcast and I think it's awesome that you're talking about your experience with this! In my opinion, more people experience this feeling than we think, but it's true that it's not an easy topic to talk about. Who knows, maybe if you mention it to some family members or your friends, you'd be surprised! 😁
I think a lot of people keep it to themselves mainly because they're afraid of not being understood. Because when it happens, it's so intense that you wish everyone could be inside your head to truly get it! Like you said, you want to share it and shout it out loud. But precisely because it's so strong, it's hard to find the words to even give a glimpse of what it's really like.
Personally, I've also felt this kind of fullness several times. The last time was in the countryside; there were three of us in a big house for New Year's. The landscape was beautifully white, snow was falling outside, my friend was playing the piano, and everything was perfect. It was crazy. Truly crazy how good it felt. Like you were getting drunk on the moment.
What's more, this happened during a period when I was getting my degree, so it was super stressful. Yet, at that exact moment, there were no problems at all. 😂
I don't know much about it, and I'm not sure if it's possible to feel that with multiple people or anything, but I promised myself I'd do some research on it. In the meantime, I'm noting down Frédéric Lenoir's reference.
Anyway, thanks for this really insightful and inspiring podcast, and for everything else you do! 🌟

Thanks a lot for your super interesting comments!! 😃
PS: Louis, Teho – Behind Me is in my ears right now, and it's exactly the kind of music I love for working (or used to, for studying haha), thanks for that! 😃 In a similar style, I really like Worakls, Joachim Pastor, and NTO 🔥

Hey Eric,
Congrats on this episode! I really like how you tell this story factually, trying to understand it, almost like a lab journal.
I feel like we have pretty similar musical tastes (quite eclectic!), since I'm also a fan of electro as much as (good) rap, and I love Solitude – it's one of my favorite tracks. I'd love to be able to play the piano piece you mentioned, but I don't have your talent.
You mentioned that you like music with good melodies and a good beat, so I thought I'd share this little gem with you (or maybe you already know it). Teho – Behind Me. (I've definitely had that one on repeat). I really think it's the kind of music you'll love, maybe a bit too chill for working out, but it puts me in an incredible mood.
Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you. You give so much to people, I hope I can bring you a little "pleasure" with this track.
Take care!
Louis
Hey Eric,
I think the state of bliss you're talking about is, in my opinion, a normal state – or rather, a state that should be present in each of us at least 90% of the time. But it's clear that in the world today, it's pretty much the opposite, because most people have a thousand things to do at once and are asking a billion questions, which is totally incompatible with that state of well-being that can only be found in letting go. I totally clicked when you talked about music and movement, because that's my thing. Dancing without overthinking it, what I love most is improvising to awesome music. For me, that's the best way to get into that state of bliss. I invite you to check out my YouTube channel, Arnaud Isback; "letting go with music" might resonate with you, who knows! (Sorry for the self-promo, feel free to delete my comment if it bothers you, I'd totally understand) but I really encourage you to come see what I do because it'll speak more to you than words.
Cheers and congrats on your videos and podcasts, it's really great work!

You've probably had an intense spiritual experience. I'm no expert on the subject, but what I can tell you is this: Don't try to get back to that state; in fact, the more you try, the less likely it will be. It has nothing to do with drugs; those make you forget your problems and you're sort of in the present moment, but your mind isn't clear, you're unconscious, unlike this deep state of peace where you are conscious.
However, the best way to relive this kind of experience is to embrace the present moment, like getting into a flow state. For flow, you need an activity, a stimulus, whereas the present moment is here, now, all the time. I advise you, and even ask you, to read "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. It's not just an informative read; it's much more, and the impact of this book varies depending on the person. It's also important, and I think you'd do it instinctively, to reread it at different stages of your life. It's very powerful.
I hope I can help you out🙏🏻🙌🏻
